Its affordable... Each dish is around 12-20 bucks and cam serve anywhere from 2-4 people
Yeah but don't bother going it's one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to
Great food at good prices.
Good spot....New Sun Hong Kong Noodles...smackin!!!
Good but too expensive
This is a good place for late night eats after clubbing or bar hopping. You can get traditional Chinese food. We order the pan fried noodle Hong Kong style with seafood. The noodles were crispy and crunchy overlay with generous portion of seafood. It was delicious!
I like this place, the ugly, modest, and not fancy 2nd cousin to beautiful and fashionable China Live next door. CONGEE, in the house! Dim sum. Affordable, although no AMEX - wah! I would recommend New Sun Hong Kong, SF, CA. $$ out of $$$$$. Only the take out area is wheelchair accessible. Gender specific bathrooms downstairs. Somewhat clean, meh.
“Pork fried wontons†were a scam, only deep fried wonton wrapping with a tiny piece of pork. They refused to take it back when we complained.
Good food 👠tasty
Awesome Cantonese cuisine.Dim Sum available to order.Good portion, price reasonable .The crispy fried chicken is so good.
The New Sun Hong Kong Restaurant is the first place my son and I had Congee, chicken and rice porridge on our way to visit City Lights Bookstore between Chinatown and North Beach. The painting on the walls are etched into our mind as we just stopped and hung out on the corner of Broadway and Columbus to admire the energy of the city. San Francisco has many intersections, but this is a special crossroad exclaiming San Francisco's cultural diversity. Every time we leave Las Vegas to waltz through San Francisco, we have to stop to eat Chow Fun noodles, won tons, or a hot pot dish at the restaurant with windows expanding the energy of San Francisco's center.
Ordered beef chow fun and magolian beef to go. When I got home I opened the containers and the food smelled foul. Beef wasn’t fully cooked either.
The food is good but they need to improve their service.
I eat here everytime I'm in SF. Moo Shu shrimp is great. Or it's fun to pick and choose off the Dim Sum menu. They will use MSG in Meat dishes unless you request none. Food is tasty and fresh. And service is on the ball! Spacious, simple Hong Kong style dining!
When with Mark and Vic. The chicken was amazing.
I went here with a group of friends on a Saturday night and there wasn't a wait. We ordered the egg soup sesame chicken lemon chicken and noodles and they are exactly what you'd expect them to be. Although the meal wasn't too expensive I feel like the quality of the food could have been better. The sesame chicken was the best thing we ordered and I recommend that but the restaurant is very much a typical American Chinese restaurant.I do want to say that when you walk in the house a little aquarium with lobsters in it which I wasn't able to try but I'm assuming that would be fresh if you were to order it.
Fried prawn rice tasty and delicious
Been hammered there many time for early morning feed your face time. Thank you
Beautiful food; much enjoyment; amazing staff and you definitley get your moneys worth!
WHOLE PEKING DUCK!!!! Absolutely amazing!!! And to be honest I read some of these other reviews and I have no clue what these people are talking about when it comes to terrible service. I mean our service wasn't exemplary but it wasn't far below average either. Then again I didn't come here at 1 a.m. expecting five star service.
This place is amazing, I gotta admit I was surprised on the quality of the food. Of all the authentic Chinese restaurants in Chinatown this is absolutely my favorite. The portions are definitely worth it, and the taste is authentic. I love the fact that we got served right away, and the food was delivered to our table within minutes of ordering. Took our server a while to get us water, but that’s minor compared to the rest of the service he provided. Egg flower soup was amazing, my favorite choice of the day.
Place is quiet and good. I was very nervous about eating here but the waitress was nice and helpful. Food was really delicious and I would advice other people to try. Their chow mein and ornage chicken is delicious! I will come back to eat here when I visit.
I have been coming here for years because I like the authentic, sort-of-non-americanized delicious food. Rhey have never disappointed me. It is a bit pricier than the rest of the Chinese restaurants in the area, but it is well worth it for me.
Chinese food available early hours of morning. Perfect for club and bar goers. Place is know for their Hong Kong style pan fried noodles and seafood selection. Workers are nice giving recommendation on what you're asking for. Place feels a little dated, but whats not in the oldest Chinatown west of the Mississippi river.
Great food, great service.
My favorite hole in the wall but why did they get one of my orders wrong ? It may have been on purpose and I had visiting friends, I wasn't about to make a scene. They got lucky this time !
Great meal for 2 on a Saturday night, just wanted something small. 3rd time visiting here, it's cosy, clean an great food! Would come again if we weren't leaving this area!
An authentic Chinatown experience complete with terrible service. Questionable meat and food loaded with msg. We even got to see some indigenous wildlife (roaches/rodents)If you are adventurous and want to take some risks eat here for sure!
Decent authentic Cantonese Chinese food late near the bars and strip clubs where one may need such food! Also, an oasis of low carb in a sea of Italian!
Was here for Sunday Dim Sum, and it was exceptional. The selection was lengthy and well priced. Ordered calamari and was in heaven it was so delicious. Will definitely return, and highly recommend.
Open til 3am! after a night of drinkin. this is the spot to have some good beef stew wonton noodles!
New Sun has outstanding food and service for both tourists and native San Franciscans. From seafood to pan fried noodles to dim sum- it's all fresh and delicious. The servers are always respectful and kind to my elderly father who uses a walker. He loves their fish porridge. When old Chinese people like the food- you know it's authentic!
Good place to enjoy your hot soup noodles after your heavy drinking night . You can order typical Hong Kong fried noodles and soupy noodle too! Convenient and walkable if you stay nearby hotel.
PERFECT Chinese foods. My fav is lemon chicken.
chinese food and the scene at this spot is excellent. This place is absolutely outstanding. I will be back with my friends.
Food is good. Fresh. Nothing special. For 300RMB crab could be better taste. But check the bill, when you pay: they add taxes and tips automatically. With a bill on 94$ paid 116$, they added gratuity fee extra 15$ just for nothing.
Good food, quck service. Scallops with veggies are great. Also tried dumplings with chicken and fried shrimps - they were also not bad. Place is pretty popular during lunch time and we had to wait to be seated about 10-15 min. Menu is quite long and there are many.dufferent dishes there including seafood, veggies, dumplings, chicken , pork and beef.
Open in AppMark C.’s Reviews1.0 star ratingLast Thursday night I went to this resturant for a midnight snack, but got more than i paid for. My food came with a big snotty loogie in it. The messed up thing was i ate half of this food. This was very disgusting and made me sick to my stomach. I paid $15 plus for this meal and Couldn't believe that. Any one of the workers would violate my food in such a way. If you ever ate there and got sick this probably happened to you too. The only reason i did not go back to the restaurant to confront them was because i was angry and this situation would of probably escalated! I am left with a phobia and will never buy any Chinese food again especially Chinese from San Francisco! ZERO STARS RATING!!!!!!!
